Financial Analysis Skills That Actually Matter
Learning to read financial statements shouldn't feel like decoding ancient scripts. We teach you how to spot what's important, understand what the numbers really mean, and make informed decisions based on actual business fundamentals.

How We Teach Financial Analysis
Most people get lost in formulas and theory. We start with real company reports and work backwards to understand why the numbers look the way they do.
Real Documents First
You'll work with actual annual reports from Australian companies. Not simplified textbook examples, but the messy, complicated documents professionals use every day. This gets you comfortable with how information is really presented.
Context Before Calculation
Before we dive into formulas, we explore what questions you're trying to answer. Why does this ratio matter? What story does this trend tell? Understanding purpose makes the technical stuff stick better.
Industry Comparisons
A good profit margin in retail looks terrible in software. We examine how different sectors operate, what benchmarks make sense, and why comparing companies requires understanding their business models first.

What You'll Actually Learn
The program runs for twelve weeks starting September 2025. Classes meet twice weekly in the evenings, with optional weekend workshops for those who want extra practice.
We cover the fundamentals systematically, but in a way that builds on previous concepts. By week four, you're already analyzing complete financial statements. By week eight, you're comparing competitors and identifying red flags.
- Reading and interpreting balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements without getting overwhelmed
- Calculating and understanding liquidity ratios, profitability metrics, and efficiency indicators that professionals rely on
- Spotting warning signs in financial reports that suggest potential problems or accounting manipulation
- Understanding how different industries structure their finances and what normal looks like in various sectors
- Building simple valuation models that help estimate whether a company is fairly priced
Who's Teaching This
Both instructors have spent years working with financial data professionally before moving into education. They know what actually matters in practice.
Helena Kivistö
Senior Instructor
Helena worked in equity research for eight years before she started teaching. She has a talent for explaining why certain metrics matter more in specific situations, and students appreciate her direct approach to cutting through jargon.
Branka Todorović
Modeling Specialist
Branka spent a decade building valuation models for M&A deals. She teaches the practical side of financial analysis, focusing on techniques that help you make better decisions rather than just impressive-looking spreadsheets.
